I am a painter of watercolors with the occasional foray into acrylics and oil. My journey into painting has not been a linear path. With expectations that I should become a doctor or lawyers, I encountered several detours that led me in the opposite direction. However, even during the years of legal research and reading case law, there was always a small creative light in the back of my mind that existed in my childhood and continues today.
I have been a landscape painter primarily but am expanding into portraits. My approach to painting has been similar to many artists. I believe my paintings should portray the contrasts between light and dark. Stark contrasts help capture light that is the focus of a painting. This is particularly important when painting outdoors. For me painting is a journey not necessarily a final destination. It is the creative process of painting that is so rewarding, being able to take a blank piece of paper or canvas and creating something beautiful.
